Stuck in a binge-restrict cycle? You're not broken. You're stuck in a pattern, and there is a way out.

BSc (Hons), MSc, PGdip, BABCP accredited

CBT-ED specialist for binge eating and body image, based in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, in person and online.

You've counted calories, cut carbs, joined the programmes, white-knuckled your way through. It works, for a while. Then something snaps, and you're back in the kitchen eating until you feel sick, hating yourself before you've even finished. You hold it together everywhere else. Nobody at work knows. Most people in your life don't know. You've started to believe this means you're weak, or greedy, or that something is fundamentally wrong with you.

It doesn't. What you're describing is a well-understood cycle, and it has a way out that doesn't involve more restriction, more rules, or more shame.

Restriction and bingeing feed each other. The stricter the rules, the harder your body and mind push back. The binge isn't a failure of willpower, it's the predictable result of the diet before it. This is why the "just try harder" approach keeps bringing you back to where you started, or somewhere heavier.

CBT-ED (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders) is the leading evidence-based treatment for binge-type eating difficulties. It doesn't start with another set of food rules. It starts with understanding why the cycle keeps happening, and what actually breaks it.

Working with me

Sessions are collaborative, not clinical or cold. We'd look at what's driving the cycle for you specifically: the thoughts, the triggers, the beliefs about food and your body that keep it going.

No meal plans, no more diets, no judgement.

Just a clear, structured way out, built around you.

I'm a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist specialising in eating disorders and body image (CBT-ED), working with clients across Hertfordshire, Essex and London, in person in Sawbridgeworth or online.

You don't need another diet. You need to understand why this keeps happening, and a way forward that finally makes sense. If you're ready to talk, get in touch.
